Are you ready to slow down and feel embraced by Mother Nature?
That sounds sooo magical!
Imagine spending the weekend deeply immersed in the San Gabriel Mountains surrounded by lush forests and meadows filled with wildflowers. Just a short drive into the mountains above LA, and yet you feel a million miles away, relaxing and playing with a fun group of like hearted people!
A peaceful creek flows next to the camp beckoning you to sit and listen while fiery orange skies leave the mountains in shadow as the sun bids farewell and sinks behind the peaks.
You will return feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

Do you long to be told to ‘turn off the TV and go outside to play’?
Yes! I needed to hear that!
On this weekend, each morning you greet the sun as it makes its way across the horizon and the trees come alive with the sound of birds preparing for their day. Spend your days playing in the sun and your nights gazing in awe at dark skies filled with stars revealing the depths of the universe.
You will be completely unplugged for 3 days and two nights, with no cell service or even WiFi! Just the majestic sounds of nature, and engaging conversations with a beautiful stream flowing in the background.
You may never want to leave and certainly will be ready to come back to this magical place so close to home.
To truly know a river, a mountain, or a canyon, one must be willing to lose themselves in its embrace.

Where Will We Stay?

Sturtevant Camp is a beautiful historic camp originally built in the late 1800’s. It still has the original ranger cabin from that period. The rest of the cabins, restrooms, amphitheater, and main dining/activity area were added later during its stint as a summer youth camp. Today the cabins have been restored and while it maintains a rustic charm it has plenty of creature comforts for a fun and enjoyable weekend.
The cabins have bunk beds with full bedding and shared bathroom/shower facilities. There is electricity for lights and cooking but no power outlets so leave the blow dryer at home! The cabins are set up like a summer camp with each holding 6 people in bunk beds so when you sign up you will be assigned your cabin.

The camp is serviced by Adams Pack Station, the last remaining pack station in Southern California! You may opt to use this service or pack everything you need in a larger backpack. Check out the packing list on the pricing page.
Who are the Leaders?

For this weekend you will be hosted by Kevin Montgomery and several members of the RDY team who will be teaching yoga, organizing activities as “Camp Counselors” guiding hikes and forest activities, and helping to prepare the meals.
Keeping with our theme, each camper will get a team t-shirt for games and activities too and be assigned a team leader from the RDY staff.
It’s going to be such a fun and relaxing experience so join us for some time to let your hair down and journey back to summer camp for a few days with all your RDY friends!
