Red Diamond Yoga Adventures is heading to Borrego Springs in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park for an exciting and relaxing weekend getaway! Join Anna Orbison and Kevin Montgomery as we practice yoga, sunrise meditation and wonderful hikes in this desert paradise.
Are you feeling drawn to the serenity of the desert?
Of course you are!
On this retreat, you’ll explore peace and serenity on your mat and walking in the desert. From the quiet beauty of sunrise bathing your skin in the colors of dawn to the stillness of the sun sinking below the peaks, painting the badlands with light and shadow, you will be filled with calm relaxation!

Weekend Itinerary

Day 1: Gather in Borrego Springs
You will arrive in Borrego Springs on Friday January 12th for check in anytime after 3 and spend time relaxing and enjoying the pool before dinner. On this night we will walk into the downtown area for an opening dinner later in the evening. As we return to our hotel, you will be astounded at the beauty of the night sky in America’s first dark skies city!
Day 2: Hellhole Canyon Hike
You rise early to enjoy an amazing sunrise meditation in the Anza Borrego Desert Park. Walking back to the hotel you’ll start your day right with an amazing yoga practice and breakfast. Then it’s off to explore one of the many iconic hikes in the park, Hellhole Canyon. We will pack our lunch and have a picnic in the canyon.
You’ll unwind and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the pool. You’ll be free for the evening to explore the small downtown area and have dinner. Later in the evening you’ll return to the hotel for a restorative practice. You’ll feel deeply relaxed as you retire for the night.

Day 3: Salvation Mountain
You’ll rise early for an invigorating sunrise yoga practice before breakfast.
After breakfast you’ll head out for Salvation Mountain. You will stand in awe at the work that went into building this uniquely quirky piece of folk art and learn about its history as you explore all of the little hidden places. Depending on our time we may visit Slab City and the Salton Sea on the way out.
We will stop for lunch on your own near salvation mountain. There are not a lot of options so this will likely be a Subway or one of the nearby Mexican restaurants.
Upon returning to Borrego Springs we will relax in the late afternoon with pool time or optional spa services.
After your evening restorative practice, you will enjoy a bonfire and some star gazing before tuning in for the night.
Day 4: Famous Desert Sculptures
Your last day begins with a sunrise hike along the ridge above Borrego Springs, you’ll feel inspired as you enjoy the awe inspiring view from the top. You’ll return for our final yoga practice and breakfast.
We will check out with plenty of time to enjoy lunch in town or explore all of the strange sculptures in the desert featuring dinosaurs, giant scorpions and more. You may wish to visit the local art museum and galleries before heading home.
You will leave with a sense of deep relaxation and lasting friendships from your amazing weekend together experiencing art and nature at its finest.

Kevin Montgomery
When we retreat, we offer ourselves the opportunity to press the pause button on life for a time and give ourselves some much needed selfcare. It’s hard to think of anything more relaxing and grounding than spending a few days in nature, practicing yoga and meditation with a group of fun and interesting people.
This adventure combines all of that with some truly eccentric desert experiences that may leave you a little baffled on some level, but certainly challenge our understanding of creative motivations.
I truly enjoy leading retreats, teaching yoga, and finding community with new people in new and always interesting places. I love to see the transformation that takes place between our opening dinners and our closing campfire, and the lasting memories that are created in between.
I am looking forward to sharing this adventure with you!
